March is always an exciting month for music, with the excitement of SXSW and Miami and in general, loads of exciting new bands and releases this year already, I thought I’d mix up the posts and talk about a small slice of some of the music that I and the wonderful young people I get to work with every day, are excited about right now. This is whats on my iPod right now. Enjoy…

Australian band The Temper Trap have an infectious fresh sound. Los Super Elegantes wonderfully described as a unique punk-mariachi-hip-hop pop group, from LA. Their videos are a lot of fun. I recently had the pleasure of seeing a live show of School of Seven Bells in London where they are on the great label Full Time Hobby. Please check out the new Amadou & Mariam album. Its magic, and their live shows are a must. They will support Coldplay on some US dates later this summer. The Bird and The Bee are a twosome from Los Angeles who have been writing great songs the last few years. Supporting them on a few dates is the vividly orchestrated and wonderful Juliet Commagere. The current free single of the week, and one of my favorite bands right now, on iTunes (UK) is The Invisible, who we saw recently opening for Doves. Really refreshing. Look out for the UK trio Band of Skulls. You will be hearing a lot of this band. Check out their EPK. For a fresh look at videos and a cool site to spend some time at – go to Natalie Johns’ DigForFire.tv. My favorites there are the BLK JKS and St. Vincent. Im loving the breezy infectious pop anthems of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Ive been enjoying Lex Land at lot! This band is infectious – Local Natives. Buzzing from SXSW are Canadian band – Arkells, and The Golden Filter. We spotted super talented Kenan Bell last year and its great to see him exploding now.

More to come….
