Audience.fm describes itself as “Klout for music”, as it notably enables artists to engage better with their fans, by better understanding their behaviour, and rewarding the most active fans.

Beatrobo allows users to share mixtapes online quickly and easily, via kawaï animated robots. The service also includes ‘real’ robots, which you plug into friends’ smartphones to share your playlists directly with them.

EMUES is an open, social, concert-focused platform which allows fans to crowdsource gigs, handling aspects such as the choice of venue, promoting the event and so on.

As its name suggests, FanDistro lets fans distribute their favourite music themselves. It as such calls itself a “Direct-THRU-Fan” platform. Fans are paid 20% of proceedings: but that money goes straight to charity. So everyone’s a winner!

Jamplify allows artists to identify their most engaged fans and reward them. It does so with unique, trackable links, which enable artists to, say, give exclusive content to the first fan to generate a hundred views of their latest song.

Kollektor is a real-time tracking service which tells you when your songs are being listened to on the radio, worldwide. It as such enables artists, publishers and collecting societies to estimate royalties, plan tours, follow up on promo and more.

MBaSo is a platform whose aim is to ensure artists are properly paid, via download, streaming, fan-funding and social media. It gives fans access to a virtual “backstage” area, where they subscribe to be sure to receive exclusive content and more, first.

Spins.FM lets fans request any songs on any radio stations, via Facebook or Twitter. Simple!

Founded by former Grooveshark team member Paul Geller, Sponsr.com aims to streamline the sponsorship-buying process by offering a “clearing house” for music+brand deals.

Vyclone creates multi-angle videos by sourcing footage from numerous smartphones in the room and putting thel all together; perfect for crowdsourcing concert films, for example!

The above finalists will pitch their services to a jury of industry experts and investors at midem next January. More about midemlab here; meet the finalists of midemlab’s D2C Sales & Content Monetisation category here; and check back here on midemblog for the 10 final finalists, really soon!
