The music industry has changed. New models have emerged and today the roles of the artist, the producer and the manager are considerably intertwined. More than ever an artist (and even a label) has to innovate to lead his project, and to get some originality to give fans some real, new, and exciting experience. But no one can achieve it alone. We all need a team to work with.

As far as I know there is no app or site that provides a combination of all the skills to constitute a real team on a project, to find the right people easily and manage them. I’m a French singer and songwriter. I just released my new EP called 500mg : therapeutical music which is sold on an USB Key in a medication box!

I have my own production structure and, like many other artists, to achieve my project, I’ve had to manage many people and make them work together. Like every artist, to produce my EP, I’ve been needing many skills and many days of research for each step: sound, graphics, design, studio, photo… And it takes time and money to find the right people you want to work with and to organise the connections and the schedules – the whole teamwork.

There are so many professionals involved on a musical project but we are now in the age of simplification and ergonomy, because the ennemies of the emerging artist are working solo and wasting time.

So what do we need? An app to bring together all the protagonists of a musical project.

I mean: what about a site or an app where artists, photographers, designers, studios, managers, musicians, and all the other people involved in an album’s creation or distribution could meet up, like on a dating website (without the one-night-stand option of course!). More precise than existing databases, as intuitive as a social network, with the possibility of actually meeting up with GPS localisation. We need a profile for each one, with a chat and of course social buttons, and a way to manage and constitute the team.  For instance: I create my profile as a songwriter and producer. Then I can see musicians that like my style of music, photographers that want to work on that kind of project, designers and graphic designers, studios in my town, venues or gigs, merchandising societies or community managers, films directors for video clips… I can promote my team on Facebook and Twitter and even on crowd-funding platforms.  Here’s the principle: Unify improved tools so that everyone involved on the project work is present on the same site. Real 2.0 teamwork and skills mixing!

General social networks are too big and not specialised enough for professional use. People are now looking to build their own community for their jobs, and to have the right and intuitive tools to manage their professional community and lead their projects.

What not give it a try?
