The day got off to a cracking start with The Aussie BBQ, organised with Sounds Australia, showcased local talents Shellie Morris, Jeff Lang and The Mae Trio, beautifully captured here by Dean Ormston:

The evening kicked off with a rare treat for film and music lovers: “Music for Films: A French School”, with Cannes Regional Orchestra interpreting famous film scores. They were notably joined by Emily Loizeau and Ibrahim Maalouf.

Then Brazilian rapper Criolo wowed the crowd at the “New Samba Generation” night (photo via @anmanuele):

Not to be outdone, Malaysia showed off its finest talent at its ‘Supernova’ night. Watch bhangra act Goldkartz in action!

A great win for ‘team Malaysia’: here are all the artists backstage. Thanks for coming!

Midem Festival continues today: don’t miss Music at Noon, from 11.45 on stage 2, featuring Cu++, CALLmeKAT and The Young Folk! More info here.
