2. Music never sleeps at Midem: artists at the forefront
No artists, no music: and artists will be more front-and-centre than ever at Midem 2019. From the Artist Hub with Songkick and CD Baby to the Songwriting Camp with Universal Music Publishing, plus a series of conference sessions from leading artists, creation will be well and truly honoured. Nowhere more so than in The Midem Studio Sessions, by Dynaudio Unheard (example above), in which artists will play and record live in a dedicated studio, right in front of the Palais! More info here…
3. Celebrate 5 years of accelerating new artists’ careers
Once again this year, and for its fifth consecutive edition, the Midem Artist Accelerator will showcase 11 up-and-coming artists from the world over, through concerts by night, and mentoring and panels by day. Sponsored this year by Amuse, the MAA is set to transform its finalists into global superstars. Or as former finalist T$hego (South Africa) puts it, “Midem Artist Accelerator is a world stage. I’m blessed to have been a finalist“.
4. Discover Jamaican superstars Inna de Yard, live and onscreen
Reggae legends Inna de Yard are to Jamaica what Buena Vista Social Club are to Cuba. The music collective will start their European Tour on the Midem Beach (June 6, 22.40), and reveal movie The Soul of Jamaica in an exclusive screening (June 6, 16.45, Palais, Audi K). A special musical treat, brought to Midem by Wagram Music!
